Our clinician Louise follows the Functional Medicine model principle to apply personalised Nutritional Therapy intervention. This model takes a systems biology viewpoint of how environment, genes and diet and lifestyle may influence a person’s health over a lifetime. A dysfunction in one biological system in the body can easily impact another system or function as they are all synergistically linked. Often, there may have been a chronic decline in function before manifesting in signs and symptoms or disease.
The functional medicine model is a 21st century solution to 21st century health conditions, concentrating on prevention and/or the reversal of chronic disease. It involves evidence-based research and may involve functional laboratory testing and nutritional supplementation.
The aim is to get you to a point where you achieve your health goals and you have gathered sufficient information to manage yourself going forward – this may happen after two or three consultations or can take longer, depending on your needs or the complexity of your case.
It is a collaborative process and you are fully involved in all steps.

“[…] Louise took an in-depth health history and recommended that I eliminate certain trigger foods from
my diet for a period and then systematically reintroduce those same foods back into my diet and note
[…] I am now free from the cough which always proceeded the bout of indigestion, my nasal passages are free from mucus and my skin has improved. My trapped wind at night has reduced significantly but that is still ‘work in progress’. Louise was very
supportive and able to explain things clearly, regularly checking in with me to see how I was
“I couldn’t have wished for a better result, so, many thanks Louise.”July 2018
“I suffer from chronic back pain and was feeling tired and anxious and decided to consult Louise to
see if she could help me to eat the right foods to help with pain management. I had a very
thorough consultation with Louise who identified lots of other issues that may all have an impact
on how I was feeling.[…] A couple of months down the line I am now feeling so much better.
I highly recommend Louise to everyone I meet. It’s so refreshing to meet someone who looks at the whole person rather than
just individual symptoms.”
